Anders Hultqvist – Some notes in relation to the piece Among Travelling Angels: It takes as its departure the poem Alphabet by the Danish author Inger Christensen. The music evolves by using formal principles from Christensen’s poem but also by relating to some of its poetical images. There is also some sparse musical ‘seeds’ coming from Alban Bergs Violin concerto ‘To the memory of an angel’, the Duo Seraphim section in Monteverdi’s Maria Vesper, and from a reading by Christensen herself that is turned into musical frequencies and rhythms.
